About the role

The Facilities Manager will report to the Head of Facilities and will be responsible for planning, estimating, executing, managing, and reporting on all operations relating to maintenance and essential service activities across the College.

With a clear succession plan/pathway in place, this role offers great career development and progression.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the management of the Asset Management System (AMS) database for the areas of plant and equipment, motor vehicles, marine equipment and trailers, Contractor’s Certificates of Public Liability and WorkCover and other areas as directed.
  • Overseeing the management of the portfolio of transport including motor vehicles, trailers, marine equipment, and buses.
  • Contract Management of all Service Level Agreements relating to Maintenance and Grounds.
  • Preparing cost estimates incorporating specifications and managing minor project works as required by the College Head of Facilities.
  • Supervision of all the campus infrastructure compliance, OHS, maintenance and capital budget projects, including camps.
  • Obtaining tenders and negotiating contracts for services and suppliers for the College when required.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will need to have appropriate facilities / operational management qualifications and/or experience in building and maintenance supervision along with an experience in management of both small and medium scale building and maintenance projects. Additionally, your general understanding of the principles associated with outsourcing, contractual types, tender and contract negotiation and experience in contract management in a busy diverse environment will see you thrive in this role.
